Aftermarket Mobile Video: Options for Adding Car DVD Capability to Your Car or Truck

Looking to take your in-car entertainment experience to the next level? Whether you’re interested in amusing the kids or you plan to enjoy the system yourself, adding aftermarket car video equipment to your car or truck can help you get the absolute most out of your vehicle. If you’re thinking that installing a car DVD player is too invasive or too expensive, you may want to reconsider. There are a variety of mobile video options on the market today that cater to a full spectrum of budgets, styles, and viewing needs.

Ceiling Mounted

Most of these aftermarket car DVD players are what’s considered “all-in-one” systems. That means the DVD player, screen, and even speakers are all combined into one unit. All-in-one car video setups are particularly attractive because installation is simple and straightforward: All they need is a power hookup and soon you’ll be cruising along with your favorite movie! Ceiling-mounted DVD players provide a number of benefits including easy viewing from anywhere in the backseat, fast installation, and fewer driver distractions (over a dash-mounted system). Ceiling-mounted in-car DVD systems also have the advantage of being most similar to the factory systems commonly installed in cars and trucks today, so with professional installation your new aftermarket DVD player will look virtually stock.

Headrest Mounted

Another popular car video solution is the headrest mount. Also commonly found as all-in-ones, headrest-mounted mobile video systems offer all the same benefits as ceiling mounted equipment, with a few additional advantages. One of these is improved visibility: Some drivers dislike that the rearview mirror can be obscured by the screen with ceiling mounted players. Putting in headrest monitors eliminates that issue. The other primary advantage of a headrest system is that each headrest has its own screen AND its own DVD player. That means the kids won’t have to decide on one movie to share. Instead, each headrest video player can show a separate movie.

Fully Installed

If you’re a major car audio fan or you’re looking to create a showstopper, you can go all out. Skilled mobile electronics installers can hook up video screens and car DVD players in almost any part of your vehicle: dashes, seat backs, doors, ceilings, trunks… These systems can include any number of monitors, source inputs, speakers, and even components like gaming systems. You name it, and they can probably do it. Working with a local car audio video shop, you can create a fully customized video entertainment experience for your ride, have it professionally installed, and be on the road to out-of-this-world car video in no time.

When it comes to in-car video, the sky’s the limit. However, that doesn’t mean you have to take your mobile entertainment system to the extreme. With all-in-one options available for ceiling or headrest installation, there are affordable, attractive solutions for adding a car DVD player to your car or truck without going overboard. To learn more about specific product offerings or to get started on adding in-car video to your vehicle, visit your area mobile electronics shop today.

Don’t Get Duped by an Unscrupulous Car Seller

With the various scams being perpetuated by unscrupulous individuals, you may wonder why a person would even bother to buy a car privately. There are those who roll back their odometers and fake the car’s service history, or those that involve dealers posing as private sellers to dump a lemon. Then there are the title washers who register repaired cars in another state to hide its history. But probably the most insidious of all is the practice of VIN cloning, where a stolen car’s VIN plate is replaced with a fake one scanned from a legitimate unit, including the door and body stickers. In this case, two parties become victims, the person whose car was stolen and the unsuspecting buyer who did the proper checks but was still duped into buying a stolen vehicle.

All of these situations are scary enough to read about, so much so that you’ll want to turn your back on buying a car privately forever. But there are distinct advantages when you buy a car privately, such as getting a rare or sentimental model that is not easily available somewhere else. There are also buyers who look to buy a one- or two-year old car that’s in very good condition and with decent mileage for its age. At that point, the car will have depreciated a lot in value but still be in very good condition, specially with today’s cars that are built better, have multi-year warranties and can go hundreds of thousands of kilometers before needing major repair. For much less money, these buyers get a decent-looking and -running car that doesn’t look dated yet.

In cases like these, it makes sense to go buy a car privately. Used car dealers may have similar cars, but these will either be more expensive or have higher mileage and wear. By going to a private seller, the buyer cuts out the dealer’s margin. But since you won’t have the protection of going back to the dealer in case you end up with a lemon or a car with a questionable title, you will have to perform your own checks in order to protect yourself. First of all, verify the car’s history by using a tracing service such as Carfax. This is money well spent although it must be said that VIN-cloned stolen vehicles have been known to pass these tests. But common sense should also prevail when you check a car out. For example, is the price too good to be true? You know the saying here. What does your gut say about the car and the seller? Oftentimes, how the owner presents or carries himself or herself will give you hints on how the car was taken car of, or if the car’s ownership is legit. Beware of deals that seem rushed, and of sellers who demand an all-cash transaction fast. Aside from these, take a mechanic with you and take your time in checking the car out thoroughly. If the owner seems to be rushed or is fidgety, then there’s a good chance that the seller is not on the up and up.

When you buy a car privately, chances are very good that you will end up with a good deal that will leave both buyer and seller happy. As a buyer though, don’t permit yourself to be rushed by the seller, check the car out thoroughly and trust your instincts.

Want Those Stretch Marks to Go Away?

Stretch marks are right up there with cellulite in one of the most unwanted and fretted over body imperfections of adulthood. They most often happen to women, but they can also happen to men. Neither sex likes to see the white or purple discolorations on their body reminding them of a trauma or weight gain and weight loss they endure.

Getting stretch marks to go away can prove a difficult and time consuming task. Thankfully, we live in a day and age where there have been several high tech advancements in cosmetics and corrective techniques, lotions and creams. With time and a little discipline, you can actually get these embarrassing “war wounds” to almost completely disappear.

One of the more expensive ways to help getting rid of stretch marks is to visit a dermatologist for various therapies that can help reduce them fairly quickly. However, use caution if this is the path you choose. The only treatment offered in most cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist officers is laser treatment.

Some say that laser treatment really is not effective in reducing the appearance of these damaged tissues. Why? It is because lasers generally are used to remove or reduce tissues, not to repair them. Getting stretch marks to go away generally should involve some method of repair rather than blasting away layers of skin in an effort to make them disappear.

Because these marks are really damage that goes several layers deep in to the skin, laser therapy may not be effective in making them go away. IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light Therapy may be a more viable option. It has shown some success in helping reduce their appearance. UV light therapy has been promising for the treatment of the streaky white types.

IPL may have more success than laser therapy in removing stretch marks because it has a healing effect on the skin. It can penetrate several layers deep, and the heat combined with the healing power of the light helps tissue to regenerate more quickly. Some believe that red light therapy also may help improve their appearance.

If you are looking for a treatment you can do in your own home, there are some excellent creams that you can use. You’ve probably already heard that using shea butter or cocoa butter can help prevent the deeper skin layers from tearing during periods of weight gain such as pregnancy. Extremely emollient creams like this can not only help prevent, but can also help minimize them.

The act of rubbing cream into your skin alone has a healing effect on the tissue which can help your stretch marks “blend” into your normal skin more easily. Massage skin helps to increase circulation, which speeds healing and helps the skin to look more uniform and supple.

Patients with red or raised scars are usually instructed to massage their prescription scar creams in for several minutes. The reason for this is the smoothing, healing effect that massage has on the skin. This helps flatten out raised areas, and can help with your stretch mark reduction regimen as well.

Whatever your choice of cream if you do choose to treat them at home, the massaging is what really helps them to go away. Of course, it is important that you choose a good stretch mark reduction product as well. However, simply massaging on a consistent basis helps reduce their appearance. Twice daily massage can dramatically improve your results.

Give Your Feet A Rest With Comfort Shoes

Have you ever counted how many miles you walk a day? How about the amount of hours you spend on your feet? From the minute you wake up and put your feet on the ground to the minute you go to bed you have exercised your feet and legs. Healthy feet will keep you more active and more content so treat them properly.

Considering our feet aren’t that big they have a very complex astructure. There are twenty-six bones, thirty-three joints, one hundred seven ligaments, and nineteen muscles and tendons. That’s incredible, isn’t it? But, because there are so many working parts it also means you should take care of your foot if you do not want to experience pain. The pain is usually the result of one or more of these parts fail to play nice with the others. Tight muscles or tendons can hurt a lot, especially when your foot hits the ground. Try stretching every day, not to an extreme, but just a few minutes to warm up and loosen those muscles before long periods of use.

You may also be experiencing pain because your foot developed slightly different. Flat-footedness, for example, can cause pain in the bottom of your foot and the heel. You may also experience knee and back pain if your heel does not strike properly. These are often small structural flaws in your foot.

You can use orthopedic support to ease pain. Try a pair of comfort shoes if you plan to walk a lot. You can find sport specific shoes that also help. They will give you the kind of cushioning and stability you need for that specific activity, like running shoes with arch support or basketball shoes with ankle support. Also, orthotic sandals are good for low impact outdoors activities. You’d be amazed how many people do not wear shoes built for their foot type. If you invest in a good pair and you buy slide-in arch supports you can be doing your body a favor. Insoles will not only feel more comfortable but will solve the problem over time.

Also, the days of “suffer for fashion” are over. A lot of these shoes look cool now. Say goodbye to the clogs of yesteryear. You can find different styles and colors that look like your everyday sneaker. There is no reason you should continue to experience pain when you have a choice.

Electric Vans and Their Benefits

Electric vehicles are becoming very popular these days and more and more people are finding that they are more affordable than they first thought. Electric cars and vans have been around for a long time, decade’s in-fact. One of the major reasons why they are becoming much more ‘mainstream’ is due to running costs and initial purchase prices becoming lower, this is not necessarily the case of the EV equipment becoming cheaper but a case of the more conventional petrol/diesel fuels becoming more expensive.

There are plenty of great benefits of using an electric van one of the most important is the impact of the environment. Throughout the world we are seeing a huge push to try to preserve fossil fuels, by switching to lower emitting versions of our favourite and most trusted vehicles we can help immensely towards slowing down the inevitable depletion of natural fuels.

Not only can you help save and protect the environment by using an electric commercial van but it can also save you money. Whether you are using a van that runs on partially or fully electrically you can see savings in yearly fuel costs from the word go. Car tax is also cheaper meaning that you can spend your money on other things rather than more motoring costs. Some insurance companies are incorporating new policies for drivers of EV vehicles; their competitive pricing reflects just how safe and economical these types of van are. If you operate within the centre of London then owning an electric vehicle can save you more money by excluding you from the congestion charges that have recently been introduced. As a price guide this can currently cost some drivers ?10 per day just to drive on some of London’s streets and roads.

If you have thought in the past that by welcoming this type of vehicle to your company you will have to give up some of the core features and strengths that your current vans and trucks give, then think again. Van manufacturers know very well that these vehicles are being bought not to look pretty but to incorporate everything that you would expect from a workhorse van but with the added bonuses that an EV brings.

Much like the van market the car industry is seeing an influx of private owners beginning to sample and purchase this new technology of vehicle. Not only will you find models from top motor manufacturers that infuse electric technology but also from medium to low priced makers.

So as you can see there are many benefits to switching from traditional vans to electric vehicles, why not visit your dealer that specialises in EV vehicles and take a test drive today.

How Can I Sell My Photos Online?

Technology has evolved immensely since a decade or two ago, mainly because of the development of the Internet. Back then, the only way to earn an honest salary was having a job. Even though this mentality stuck with us as the years went by, the opportunities to make money without having to work on a schedule or for a boss are now endless. I will now discuss my personal favorite, which is responsible for more than 80% of my monthly income: selling photos online.

I manage to live a very comfortable lifestyle by selling the photos I take, and so can you. And the best part about this is that your earnings reflect the amount of work you choose to spend taking photos. I know people who make around $1000 a month from this, only taking photos for a couple of hours during weekends. I myself chose to turn this into a full time job (about 3-4 hour a day, actually) and the reward is extremely fulfilling.

But enough babbling, let’s talk a little about how this whole thing works. Why would anyone pay for photos taken by regular people?

The answer is quite simple actually: photography buyers usually have better things to do than wasting their time taking photos. Such people include website designers, bloggers, business owners and freelancers. It is a lot easier to pay someone a few dollars for a photo you like than going outside and trying to take that photo yourself.

But where can you find such people? Thankfully, there are various ways to get people to buy your photos. The most popular and profitable method (for me) is selling your work through websites specialized in stock photos. A simple Google search will reveal quite a few of these sites.

This method is quite straight-forward. All you have to do is upload your photos to their servers, set your prices and wait for people to buy. You can either sell a photo to only one person (which will earn you more money per sale) or to more people, in which case the buyers do not have the certitude that their photo is unique on the Internet. This will also lower the price of your photos, but the possibility to sell a photo more than once can be more profitable in the long run. I cannot say which method is better, since it depends on a series of factors, but I make about $2.5 per photo.

Another way to find buyers is advertising your work yourself, either by joining forums or other communities, or by contacting bloggers or website owners yourself. Even though this requires some more work on your part, finding a good and constant buyer can be like striking gold.

By doing a little math, you can calculate the average salary you can earn during a month of selling photos online. Let’s say you can only spend 2 hours a week taking photos. How many photos can you take during this time? They don’t have to be artistic photos, just regular ones. Let’s say you take 100 photos every week, which brings us to a total of 400 photos per month. At an average of $2.5 per photo, your monthly profit will be $1000. Pretty nice, right?

And the best part about this is that you don’t have to be a professional photographer or have an expensive camera to start. I was completely clueless when I first started and now I make a living from this.

Post Cancer – How the Fight Against Papillary Thyroid Cancer Changes Your Body

Cancer the dreaded disease. Known as the “C” word statistic show that approximately 1 in 3 newborns will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in their lifetime. There are many factors that will come into play such as heredity and environment. It attacks anyone, female or male, young or old. Some cancers are very easily detected with obvious signs and symptoms while other are hard to detect. There are cancers that are very slow growing, such as thyroid cancer and others that grow very quickly giving very little time for treatment.

Cancer has an effect on the body. The effect will all depend on the cancer and also on the physical and mental state of the patient.

My experience with cancer is with papillary thyroid cancer. As I stated before it is a slow growing cancer and in my case did not present any obvious signs or symptoms other than a cyst containing normal body fluids.

With the surgically removal of the cyst, the thyroid cancer was discovered and that was the beginning of the changes from cancer to my body. The removal of the cyst provided me with an incision about six inches long just below my Adam’s apple. It healed well only to be cut open once more for the total thyroidectomy. Being a very fortunate person it also healed very well leaving a scar that is not very obvious. This is not true for everyone. Some patients are left with scars that are raised and thick. These scars may cause the feeling of the need to always have the neck area covered.

Following a radical neck dissection to remove some lymph nodes I was left with a scar starting from my right ear and reopening my original dissection. Once again I healed very well but this time there were many changes. There is now a slight indentation in the right side of my neck. That area has a feeling of stiffness and has very little sensation.

Those were the changes that occurred because of the surgery. Now for the changes due to the radioactive iodine treatments. Radioactive treatments are the normal protocol for patients that have had a total thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer. The radioactive iodine when administered will attach itself to any remain thyroid tissue in the body and destroy it, preventing any remaining cancer cells from continuing to grow. With my first treatment of the radioactive iodine I had major swelling in the neck area and since I ingested it orally, my mouth felt like I drank something very hot and burnt it. The radioactive iodine goes into the saliva glands and the taste buds. I lost the function of many saliva glands causing the difficulty of eating foods that are dry like crackers. My sense of taste has been affected, changing the pleasure I used to have from certain foods.

The radioactive iodine treatments for some women can make their body go into early menopause with symptoms of hot flashes and other problems affecting their sex life. Fertility of women and men can be damaged by the iodine as well. It is advised to wait at least 6 months before becoming pregnant or fathering a child after a treatment.

Last but not least is the life long necessity to be on thyroid hormone replacement medication. After being diagnosed and treated for the cancer of the thyroid gland, the need for the body’s thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is needed to be kept low. The pituitary gland is tricked into not producing the hormone with the thyroid hormone replacement medication.

Every cancer brings its challenges and changes to the body. Depending on the person’s mindset these obstacles can be seen differently and each cancer patient will handle them in their own way. I chose not to allow them to interfere in my life and made the adjustments that had to be made to deal with them.

A No Potassium Chloride Salt Substitute May Be A Safer Choice For Many Following A Low Sodium Diet

A salt substitute is one of the first things many shop for when they are told to go on a low sodium diet. They are looking for a salt replacement. Once they have become used to the salt taste, it is not easy to break the salt habit. Over the years they have probably started to salt everything, even before tasting it. They are tasting the salt and not much else. So when they are told to give up salt, they have a hard time because nothing tastes good. It may not be that nothing tastes good, it is more likely that nothing tastes like the salt taste they are used to.

Today there are many salt substitutes available in grocery, natural food, and health food stores and online. However, most of them are made of potassium chloride. This may be okay for some of you, including the more healthy people, but not for all. More often than not, folks who have been told to follow a low sodium diet because of a health problem are trying to avoid a more serious problem. For example, common reasons for a low sodium diet are hypertension (high blood pressure), which can lead to more serious conditions such as heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular disease and others.

There are some health problems and certain medications that advise you to avoid salt substitutes. They don’t always tell you why, but it’s the potassium chloride. You should also be aware that today, many low sodium

processed foods like low sodium chicken broth are prepared with potassium chloride. It’s not just in salt substitutes anymore.

The recommended daily potassium is higher (around 4,700 mg per day) than the sodium per day (which is around 2400 mg). It’s about a 2 to 1 ratio. However, for many their sodium intake is higher than their potassium. Many should increase their potassium. Especially here in the US, many are potassium deficient. Eating more fruits and vegetables will usually take care of this. Potassium is important. Some of the things it does is help lower blood pressure, help the heart and other organs, help eliminate muscle cramps, help prevent bone loss, is good for nerves and much more.

However, there are certain health conditions and medications that cause the body not to excrete or get rid of the excess potassium, which starts backing up in the body. This may increase the risk of hyperkalemia which can adversely affect the heart rhythm. Most people with kidney failure, liver failure, heart failure, heart disease and many with diabetes should not use salt substitutes with potassium chloride. Also, many on certain blood pressure medications and other medications should not use salt substitutes. If you’re not sure, it’s important to ask your doctor or dietitian.

Those of you who can use a salt substitute may not like the taste, which is often described as having a metallic, bitter aftertaste.

So now what do you do?

Try using foods with a tangy taste. Lemons are a great way to replace salt. It usually takes just a few drops of fresh lemon juice to make the difference. Sometimes fresh lime juice will also do the trick. Vinegar also adds a tang which gives a bit of a salty flavor, and there are a variety of flavored vinegars to choose from. Use fresh herbs, especially fresh parsley. Also, try a little fresh basil or cilantro to perk up a soup, or sauce. You will be surprised how just a little of a fresh herb at the end of cooking can brighten the taste. Most importantly, use a variety of salt free seasonings (without potassium chloride). These are the key to more flavorful food, as most seasoning blends have salt in them.

So now when looking for a no potassium chloride salt substitute, you can also look for herbal or natural salt alternatives and you will be surprised at how flavorful a low sodium diet can be.

Benefits Of The Contraceptive Diaphragm

The contraceptive diaphragm may not be for every woman, especially when you consider its tricky insertion and somewhat difficult removal, and with so many other birth control devices available that can seem less fiddly and more advantageous, the contraceptive diaphragm can often be forgotten or considered a birth control device that was better suited for your mother, rather than the younger generation.

However, in a world of daily pills, contraceptive patches, contraception injections and the good old condom, the contraceptive diaphragm really does have some surprising benefits that can often go forgotten.

Firstly, once you get the knack of getting it in and out, its insertion and removal really do not become an issue. The dome shaped soft substance usually made of latex with a spring inside the rim works when inserted inside the vagina and acts as a barrier between the cervix and an impending penis. And yes, while spontaneous sex can sometimes become less than impulsive when you have to excuse yourself to put it in, it really doesn’t take that much more time or effort than putting a condom on.

The real benefits though of using the contraceptive diaphragm is that you don’t need to worry about taking a daily pill, and its job won’t become null and void if you have to take an unexpected dose of antibiotics.

Unlike condoms, the chances of it breaking are next to none, and when inserted you can’t feel a thing except for the most wonderful sensation of skin to skin contact when your man’s penis is not covered in a condom.

A huge and often forgotten benefit is that the contraceptive diaphragm can become your best friend when you have your period. Inserted snugly up inside your cervix, not only will it block any sperm, it will also nicely catch the flow of your period, avoiding messy period sex. Think of the advantages of this when you have just met someone new and you don’t yet feel like discussing your monthly friend.

In addition to this, if you are unfortunate to get an allergic reaction to condoms and your body does not take well to other forms of birth control, the diaphragm contraceptive might be the best solution for you.

If you want to consider using the contraceptive diaphragm make an appointment to see your doctor or gynecologist. They will measure you and fit the right sized diaphragm to your body. They can also give you the best advice and tips on how to insert and remove it properly as well as how clean and store it.

There are only two kinds of diaphragms:

A Flat Ring Diaphragm: This type of vaginal diaphragm can be folded like an oval and then easily inserted. An applicator is also provided with it, which makes insertion a little more easier.

An Arcing or Coil Spring Diaphragm: This type of diaphragm is a little hard to fold and forms an irregular circle when folded. However this diaphragm can be inserted with the fingers

Your doctor will discuss the best type of diaphragm for your body and fit it accordingly to your personal size. They will also explain how the contraceptive diaphragm must be used in conjunction with a spermicidal cream to prevent any sperm from penetrating past the diaphragm.

Finally, if you are still unsure about this form of contraception, consider this. Unlike almost all other forms of birth control, the vaginal diaphragm has the least amount of side effects. Not relying on a balance of hormones it will not increase your weight, swell your bust in to two highly tender balloons, or put you at risk of a blood clot.
